After 43 Years, Super-Valu in Oliver is closing Thursday. Thank-you Brogan Family for all you have done for Oliver

The end of an era - The Brogan Family has run the Super-Valu for so long, and this community has benefitted from a full service store, bakery, deli, floral meat - for me it was my one stop grocery store. It was also a major employer in town, with many long time employees. Super-Valu was a supporter of so many things in Oliver.

To Wally and Terri - a big thank-you, and happy retirement. To Al - best wishes in whatever you do, and make sure, whatever it is, it gives you the freedom to come ski with us.

Lots of questions on the future of the staff - some may work for the new store. A great group of people.

The store closing was to be April 30th, but has been moved up to Thursday, as the stock is flying out the doors at great prices.

Ever watch "The Liquidator" ? Direct Liquidation is coming to conduct an auction on all the remaining things - shelves, coolers, shopping carts, fork lift etc. Viewing May 6th, Auction May 7th.

The "Corporate Thing" will start soon, with Loblaws bringing in a manager to oversee the transformation of the store to a Loblaw's "No Frills" grocery store. Opening sometime in August.

I dread the summer chaos trying to shop in Oliver with only one grocery store.
