BC Wild Fire Update - 10:30

3 mins
Today has been one of B.C.’s busiest wildfire days in recent memory. We have had 138 confirmed wildfire starts across the province, primarily in the central interior. Lightning, high temperatures, and strong winds were contributing factors. Many of these wildfires are demonstrating aggressive fire behaviour. The BC Wildfire Service and local emergency services are responding to fires and working to keep the public and our communities safe. This photo was taken from the Provincial Airtanker Centre in Kamloops looking north towards smoke from the Ashcroft wildfire. This airtanker is going to take a rest until the morning, as are our social media channels. We will resume at 0800 tomorrow morning with updates.
From all of us at the BC Wildfire Service, have a safe evening.
