It's that time of year when there is plenty of good skiing left, and some have moved on to other things. One resort has offered reciprocal to all season pass holders around the globe. One resort has offered deals for season pass holders of certain low snow resorts. Silver Star is promoting its end of season events, and Big White is advertising discounts. I saw a post yesterday of one of WB's lift load areas without a line up. Some areas have had to close early with low snow.
In our area there is golf and farming drawing locals away. Yes there have been some fine days in the valley, but there is a lot of good skiing left, and my valley activities can wait.
It has been a weird year for me missing 6 weeks of the season with a non ski related injury. I'll be out there until the hill shuts down. As much as I don't want the season to end, I'll be happy when most have left, and the village is back to quiet off season mode.
I said goodbye to one household yesterday - I hope more owners do what they have done. While packing up, they made a plan for their FireSmart activities when they return after the snowmelt.
