From the big snowpack, and all the moisture we have received recently, it didn't seem to me to line up with the message.
After contacting local sources, I have been able to confirm that Baldy is actually a little better off this year than the last two years water wise. There are differences between the Boundary and the Okanagan, and each jurisdiction uses their own criteria for labelling the stage of drought.
Other parts of the Province are on fire.
I also talked to a forestry guy down the road the other day about all the flagging on the Baldy Road. There is a Wildfire Mitigation Project planned for km 4 to the Wapiti turn off. Trees will be spaced. Not sure when they will start, but he thought it may be in the fall.
