Baldy Bar Hours

Do I dare weigh in on this one - might have to turn off comments. There are those in the community who would like longer hours in the bar. I understand that, but we don't own the bar.

I know from my experience decades ago, and information in recent times, that it is not a money maker be open for many hours with no customers.

Anyone remember the year that MMT did not have the funds to open the bar for evenings? Tony and Brooke stepped up to run the bar on Saturday nights, and we all supported that.

To pack the bar, usually involves a special event, which used to work monthly. There have been some discussions about events, and maybe we will see some in the New Year.

If you see these hours and bring more booze to your cabin - if you have room to bring it up, you have room to take the empties home. They don't belong in the snowbank at the transfer station.

If a non-profit like the Alpine Club wants to organize a bottle drive, let me know and I would happily help you promote it.

Tyler and Bee's Condo

Tyler and Bee had planned to be here for the winter, but unfortunately plans have changed. They will be renting their condo. There are images and the new contact e-mail under the accommodations tab on the blog as well as a number of photos from inside.

Bee has been looking at rental platforms, and hopes to be ready to take bookings on Monday.

Take a moment from your Christmas shopping and snow report following, and read the latest public health information. Ignore Facebook, get vaccinated. Covid and Flu. Christmas is not fun with sick people, particularly children. Children are dying in BC from the complications of the flu.

 

Saturday

It is snowing heavily - lots of fresh stuff. Not sure what was groomed at what time - I could see groomer lights last evening  before much of this fell. Not going out today - too much to do at home, my knee doesn't like the trail home from the Lump, and too much work to take the truck down.

New Trail

Some work was done this fall to make an access from the Wapiti area to the snow shoe trails, to avoid conflict with property owners where people walked through before. For details, talk to Mark and Sherry, or Paul C.
