I have yet to meet BMR ownership, but have established a good relationship with on site management.
With regard to the publicity earlier this year about BMR's outstanding sewer bill. Of course there are two sides to every story. Do I agree with everything ownership has done? No. Do I agree with everything that the council/sewer board has done? No.
I have done my own research online on sewer rates. The rate being charged BMR seems high to me - I believe there is work and conversation to be had to resolve this issue.
My understanding is that ownership has initiated some contact.
The council/board indicated in a letter to strata members that there could be a vote to disconnect the lodge from the sewer system. Time is marching on, BMR is preparing for the season, we all want to ski.
In my opinion, disconnecting the sewer is not a positive move under any circumstances for the best interests of the community.
Conversation, negotiation and collaboration will move Baldy forward. Confrontation and digging one's heals in will not.
The village and the public want to buy their passes. The powers that be need to state that they are talking, and the season will go ahead.
Tell your Strata Council that you want to ski this winter.
You can send a message through the Power Strata Website to individual directors.
