We know that most of our transfer station issues do not come from the inside of our community.
Approaching the busy holiday time of the year, it would be helpful if more people were well informed.
The RDKB provides us with a "household garbage" bin, and a recycle bin.
If you can haul it up here, you can dispose of it properly, or take it home.
If you are departing for home and will be in Oliver between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm Monday to Saturday, the Bottle Depot on Sawmill Road takes glass, Styrofoam, batteries, electronics, small electric appliances, paint and other things.
Look on the RDKB website for info on garbage and recycling.
For household garbage, a little wrist action when you toss your bag in will fill the bin more effectively, with material in the back.
In recent weeks, I have seen cardboard boxes and liquor bottles in the garbage bin. Flatten the cardboard boxes and put them in the recycle bin.
Clean empty beverage containers can be placed in clear bags, and dropped at any Return It Expess location on your way home. Use the Baldy Community Association account, and the funds will go to the Baldy community, including FireSmart activities that are not covered by strata or grants.

For those of us with trucks and canopies or tonneau covers, you have the option of holding garbage there if the bin is full when you go down.
