I took over the dormant blog in 2010, when the community wanted more information. I met the manager once a week, and tried to get the word out in advance on events and activities.
The blog grew and expanded as a service to the community, and partly as a way for me to reduce the number of phone calls I would get. As a Baldy lifer, friends in town would direct people to me for accommodation information, and of course the inside track on snowfall.
I have done some updates to the most viewed tab, Baldy Accommodations. There is updated information today on Wapiti Creek Lodge. Owners Scott and Robyn are community minded folks, and heavily involved with the Alpine Club. I grew up in Osoyoos, and remember when Scott's family moved there. I have had interactions with 4 generations of his family. His kindergarten teacher was the late Marge MacLeod, Matriarch of the mountain.
