Tuesday Turns and Memory Lane

Two and a half hours on the Lump today, with perfect groomer conditions. For my friends who thought Lower Shaft was great the other morning, this was better. Teledeano and I both felt a little grab on two turns on MacLeod, but other than that, it was smooth gliding.

There are a few memorial plaques around the hill, this year we have enough snow to reach them.

The ones for Fred Jones and Ken Ozanne are badly faded.. I removed those, and replaced them with ones I ordered on line to see how they would stand up. They are not great, and I didn't have the hardware I wanted, but they will do for now. For the price, the metal ones are a disappointment.

I looked for the Buzz Sawyer plaque and could not find it. I am wondering if it was on a tree that has come down.

I will continue to look for other options.

Ken's plaque was originally on Tenning's, then moved to "Wizard" named in his honour.
We were not sure if all of the screws were removed, so I tagged the tree. After a couple of years, the writing has faded, and I was able to examine the tree, finding one nail. I'm not going to ski with a pry bar, but may go back up with a sharpie and some tape.
