The Alpine Club families and Mel and her team did a great job of feeding us tonight, and there were some pretty impressive donations for the silent auction.
The young kids wouldn't know, but when I looked around the room, I saw former Alpine club participants, parents, and at least three couples who were the parent leads for the club when their kids were young.
A little background on your cabin.
Photo courtesy of Hulton family album.Uncle Paul Fairweather had the cabin built to serve as a rental shop, prior to the lodge addition. (three sections to the left.) The Fairweather family dog "Baldy", a Saint Bernard, was often laying outside the rental shop.
When the rental shop was moved into the basement of the lodge, Uncle Paul offered the cabin to me, I would just have to get it up on my lot. I had actually started hand digging for footings, when I realised that the logistics were a challenge, and the cabin was too small.
It was turned, and used as the ski patrol building for several years, before being dragged up by the base of the tubing lane.
The Alpine club families have done a great job of relocating and fixing up the cabin for the club.
