"Crit Lake"

One of the early investors in Baldy was John Crittenden (sp?). I was told that on an early exploration of the terrain, he got a little wet when his sled broke through.

Sadly John died in a car accident on a ski trip to the rockies. The original ownership group prepared a bronze plaque honouring him, to be mounted at the "lake". For decades, the plaque sat in various places in the Baldy Bar. It has been a few years since I have inquired, but the last time I asked, it had apparently disappeared. If anyone comes across it, we should do something about getting it on display.
