Listening to CBC on the truck radio as I drove down to the valley today stirred up a lot of memories from 2021.
A fire started in Kalamoir Park - West Kelowna this morning, and for a time there were many homes evacuated.
West Kelowna Fire Chief James Brolund said at the Fire Dept morning briefing, they talked about today being the kind of weather that could really get a fire going if there was an ignition. Not enough cooling overnight, and strong gusty winds.
I know Baldy family were affected by smoke, and possibly evacuation orders. The fire is now "held" and people are returning to their homes.
