If you missed Doug MacLeod's presentation on the AGM Zoom, the next time you see Doug, Jason Parker or Andrew Simmonds - give them a Baldy family thank-you. All three were among the key people in the fire fight this summer.
When you see Bill Kerr - he deserves our sincere thanks. From the proposal to the reality of the Eagle electrical upgrades, to the big role he has now in maintenance at Baldy, I have a hunch this is a little more than he had in mind for a gradual retirement as an Electrician, and trades instructor.
For those of you who don't know Bill, he was in charge of the Eagle Chair when it was at Mt. Washington, and during his time with Leitner-Poma, he wired the Sugar Lump chair. Bill also stepped up to help Matt a number of times with issues on the old electrical stuff.
This summer we called Bill "the last man standing", but Bill has assembled and trained a good team, and at Bill's request, Sean from Leitner-Poma and Russell from Mueller Lifts have both been here. I'm slipping - Russell was here for a day and a half, and I didn't know he was here. Russell now owns and operates Mueller Lift Services out of Vernon, but was the head of maintenance at Baldy when all three of our current lifts were installed.
I stopped by the Eagle to see the guys this afternoon - they were getting cold at 2:00, and hoping for one more dry day as they finish up what they are doing. Things are being done the right way, and the guys are in good spirits.
