Avalanche Awareness - Missing you Pat Reiter

I missed posting on the right date - I was thinking March 6th, but it was March 3rd, 2006. We lost a friend on McBride Mtn that day. He had been skiing Baldy the week before, and talking about his upcoming trip. Pat Reiter was an experienced backcountry skier, and talented photographer. The avalanche forecast had them stay in the cabin most of the day, then the fatal decision to go out in the sunshine and ski.

Forever missed by all who knew Pat, and one of the reasons I have a heightened awareness of avalanche risk.

Pat is missed dearly and my girls adored him as you can tell by these photos. We sure miss lunch rock parties especially with Pat.
