The founders of this community believed in a friendly family atmosphere. Before telephones, it was fun to go for a walk and drop in for a casual visit. When some of us had CB radios, we knew who needed an onion, and who had extra.
People like my Mom, Doris Hulton, Barbara Fenwick-Wilson, Irene Fairweather, Marge MacLeod and many others cultivated the warm and friendly atmosphere.
As founders no longer came to the mountain, Marge MacLeod was affectionately named the "Matriarch of the Mountain." I miss her as a friend, and as a strong leader who would have shut down community discord a long time ago.
