I have not skied Fernie, but found this video from a few years back that shows the amount of skill and  effort to keep their guests safe.

When we were kids, we'd ski the North Bowl every spring, but only after one of the adults had checked and told us that the cornice had slipped.  I skied off the slipped cornice once - it was exhilarating. Having had friends involved in 3 separate avalanches, and only one of them survived, I am more than happy to ski in bounds.
