I had some great runs with MMT today, and learned a bit more about the power to the summit. The original cable from the seventies was damaged at some point, and replaced about 12 years ago. There is a transformer at the top of the lift - there are cones indicating that it was dug up recently. A cable runs from the transformer location to the patrol hut, and back to the top lift shack. I knew that the pole put up back behind the lift had something to do with metering - it allows Fortis to read Baldy's top of lift meter without going up there.
