This is a tough one for me to post - Rick was a few months younger than me, and I've known him since the early days of Baldy. I will be adding more photos, and probably stories in the coming days, but as the news travelled quickly, I got permission to post today.
Husband, son, brother, uncle, ski racer, coach, golf pro,
and an all ‘round really nice guy………….
Our hearts are with his wife Diane, dad Mike and Virginia, sister Pam and John, nephew Shayne and Rebecca, bonus sisters Rhonda and Kevin, Sage and Mike, and nephews Sebastien and Nathaniel. Uncle Bill and Laurie, and the whole extended family.
Rick passed away the morning before his 66th
Birthday. Rick has had health issues , but we sure didn’t see this coming – he
shot a 71 on Thursday, and Sunday morning he was gone. A warm smiling, genuine
friend and family member. When I think of Rick, every image in my mind is with
a broad smile.
Rick was a devoted husband, family member and friend. We feel
shock and sadness, and know that there is now a huge hole in the Crowson
family.
Rick was an amazing skier, racer, and coach – racing at
Baldy in the ‘70’s with the Vancouver Ski Team, and later coaching the Baldy
Nancy Greene Team
He did work at Baldy in earlier days, but Golf was his
passion, and he loved his career as a Golf Pro and in various Golf management
positions.
Celebration of life will be Saturday, September 16th at 1:00 p.m. at Penticton Senior center.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the heart and stroke foundation or cancer society. Dress is casual!!
Rick was a great emcee - It is so hard to believe that I am the only one still alive from this Baldy 25th Anniversary photo.
Surprising Mike on his 70th Birthday |
BC Winter Games - 1985 - Fore Runner - we think that is Hollie R and Jennifer B in the back ground.
