Sweet Turns on Sugar Lump This Afternoon. Ladies and Gentlemen - we have our mountain back.

Ladies and Gentlemen - we have our mountain back. I'm not saying my memory is perfect, but I don't recall a season with this type of weather adversity. A cold time, or a damp weekend in January are not that unusual, but the long cold stretch then the long foggy mild stretch are unprecedented in my memory.

This afternoon the skiing was great, the forecast looks good, and the base has held up really well. One could see places where the groomers had challenges last night - like the cat too heavy for a pass on Tennings. Those who went out early found some of the skiing quite firm, and a little silky stuff up top. This afternoon was just fine.

Not sure about the "off piste". As I was side stepping up to the trail behind my cabin, my skis were sinking quite a bit. Skiing home was a challenge. Forecast new snow should fix our regular routes....

Here are a few of my 16 photos from this afternoon.

This photo taken from the same spot that I took last week's feature photo of the Cascades.
