The downhill person has the right of way!

I came very close to being taken out on Beaver Trail today. A strong skier guest passed very close to my shoulder at a high rate of speed. I was going to speak to him up top, but I did not know what language the group of four were speaking, and decided to hang back and make sure they were ahead of me.

I don't care how long it has been since one has had their driver's license -  you know that you don't pass on a double solid line on a corner at high speed.

I don't care how long it has been since you learned to ski, you were taught and or have been exposed to the skiers responsibility code many, many times, and should know that the downhill person has the right of way.

If you intend to pass, give the person a wide berth and call out "on your right" or "on your left."
