- Dark glasses or goggles
- Sunscreen
- Wax on your skis or boards
I have used canning paraffin for years. When it is warm, I don't scrape and rub the bases to smooth. A few irregularities in the surface help to prevent suction from the moisture content in the snow.
I read an article decades ago, about one of the World Cup champions - someone analyzed the wax on his skis - something like 99% paraffin, and 1% dirt.
In 5 more days, my 6 weeks are up. Conditions now are setting up to a repeat of February 6th - the sun is creating ice around my truck, and in a few days there will be snow on that ice. I will be careful, and will pick a good day to go out.
