Baldy Blue Jays Adaptive Snow Sports 

• Jay is no longer with us, but he was honoured to have a visit from Bryce, and the program named after him
• Thank-you to the volunteers - re-fresher training course yesterday (photo to come)
• Not  a huge time commitment, but such a gift to help challenged folks with the sports we love
• At least two titanium hips in the volunteer group.

Baldy Mountain Community Association

• Formed as a legal entity that can apply for grants that Strata and BMR can not apply for
• Working together, we are better
• The community association is currently working with BMR and other parties on grant applications that could benefit all of us in Wildfire Resiliency
• Thank-you to BMR for donating the empty beverage containers from the lodge to the association.
• Four volunteers sorted, and bagged the holiday empties, and Tom hauled a truck load to the depot last week
• The plan is to do the sorting and hauling weekly now. Volunteers will gather after the Baldy Babes Lunch. If you would like to volunteer your time and/or truck, contact Hilary
• By doing this weekly, hopefully a really big truck will not be needed.
• When the Community Association sends out it's next newsletter, please consider joining the Association.
• 100% of any grant money has to be spent on the project. Memberships and empties help fund the annual operating cost of the association.
• You can donate your empties by bagging them, taking them to a Return-It Express Depot, and tagging it with the phone number on the side bar.

FireSmart

• There have been a number of social media posts mentioning the Los Angeles fires as a wake up call
• I read that Los Angeles has one of the most FireSmart building codes, but many homes were built before that came in to effect

BC Wildfire and other Canadian Resources

• personnel with special expertise and at least one unit crew are on the ground in Los Angeles doing what Canadians do
• The Canadair "super scoopers" are doing an amazing job picking up water from the ocean
• It is interesting to see all the videos online from Californians who have never seen that type of aircraft in action before.

The Blog

• I have been doing this for 14 years - not for my own entertainment
• There is a strong following, however I still get asked questions from people who are not aware of the blog
