Ski School Friends

It's hard to believe it was +/- 48 years ago when Mary Anne encouraged me to join the ski school. A very dear friend, mentor, and special person in my life. Wally passed away earlier this year, and this morning we had a good talk on this milestone birthday for Mary Anne. She will mark the occasion with a quiet family dinner.

By chance, Nanno connected with me this morning. We last skied together at Baldy in February of 2020, just before covid hit. His wife passed away this year, and he is planning to come and ski Baldy sometime this winter.

JoAnne's husband passed away before Christmas, and she remains active Nordic skiing in Smithers.

Lots of good times back in the day.

My first ski lesson with Mary Anne was on moguls, learning down - unweighting. (avalement ). It is fun to do, and I think of Mary Anne every time I use that technique on the bumps and rolls.
